The 2020–23 Federal ICT Strategy approved by the Federal Council on 3 April 2020 focuses on the changes that are required in order to align Federal Administration IT with future business needs and to provide the most effective support for the business of the Administration in the digital transformation. The 2020–23 ICT Strategy is being implemented through various programmes, projects and assignments, which are bundled into a total of six strategic initiatives (SI).
SI 2 concentrates on customer focus in ICT. It intends for business and ICT to engage in deeper dialogue on shaping the digital transformation and to develop digital services together.
Customer focus also played a central role in the development of MTM. The aim was to provide users with an intuitive application that relieves them of administrative tasks throughout the mini-tender process, which is now free of any media discontinuities. This is achieved through features such as the numerous automated emails that MTM sends at defined points in the process. Users do not have to do this themselves and they are reminded of deadlines in good time. MTM also lists each user's completed procedures and visually indicates when the utilisation rate of a mini-tender has exceeded certain values so that a supplement or a new mini-tender procedure can be initiated in good time, if necessary.
MTM places the focus on supporting users, offering them many tools to help navigate the complex area of public procurement.
